[Dutch] Incubate september: betoverend, behaaglijk, baanbrekend

Tilburgs festival voor grensverleggende cultuur beleeft een zeer succesvolle editie.

Het festival werd donderdag 8 september door Incubate en theater De NWE Vorst afgetrapt met een gezamenlijke openingsact in de zonovergoten theatertuin: ‘Play It Back’, een energieke en uitdagende voorstelling van Nastaran Razawi Khorasani.
De donderdagavond begon goed met concerten en theatervoorstellingen op negen locaties. Terwijl het publiek in 013 werd getrakteerd op optredens van Thurston Moore Group en het negenkoppige Golden Dawn Arkestra, die met hun betoverende show fans van jazz, afrobeat én psychpop op hun wenken bediende, viel het publiek een paar honderd meter verderop als een blok voor de technoklanken van het Duitse Sleeparchive, dat optrad in een bijzonder sculptuur bij Duvelhok.

Tilburg was vier dagen in de ban van Incubate; verspreid over niet minder dan 16 locaties werden bezoekers getrakteerd op muziek, films, beeldende kunst, theater én games. De zalen en gangen van De NWE Vorst boden tijdens het festival plaats aan Incubate Arcade: meer dan 40 indie games van game makers uit de hele wereld waren bijeen gebracht om bezoekers te laten experimenteren met actieve, intieme, pijnlijke en ontroerende games. Hier was ook speciale aandacht voor vrouwelijke gamemakers, met een uitgebreid programma op zaterdagmiddag vol panelgesprekken en workshops.

Incubate, the Tilburg festival for cutting-edge culture, has taken on a new form in 2016. While it used to take place during a single week in September, in 2016 visitors can look forward to three weekends of music, visual arts, film and culture, spread throughout the year. Today, the festival announces the first artists for the September edition. Weekend- and daytickets for Incubate’s September edition can be purchased through our website – www.incubate.org/tickets – from the 23th of June on.

Incubate will return in May!

Incubate, the Tilburg festival of cutting-edge culture, will take on a new form in 2016. While it used to take place during a single week in September, in 2016 visitors will be able to look forward to three weekends of music, visual arts, film and culture, spread throughout the year. Today, the festival announced the line-up for the May edition as well as two other festival weekends: one bigger festival on September 8 ’til 11 and one weekend on December 10-11.
